Here's our latest additions. We bought two piglets from a neighbor, to raise for another neighbor. They have almost doubled in size since they came 3 weeks ago. Hopefully they'll be freezer size by June. Some more "farm to table" business, or maybe its "field to fork" "pasture to pantry", hmm pick your favorite title !

Its fun to have piggies around again. Our oldest daughter will be getting her 4H pigs in another few weeks too.

  1. We only had one pig at a time when I was growing up, raised for the table. Often we named them accordingly; Pork Chop, Bacon, and of course the obvious Brownie!

I am a spinner and interested in hearing more about your rovings and fleece. Do you have a listing anywhere?

    Thank you!

  2. Hi Bobbins,
Thanks for visting !! No names for these piggies yet. Our daughter always names hers, actually has the names picked out already for the fair pigs !
As far as listings for roving and such, we have a website for the Icelandic roving and have a bit of brown/moorit roving that is 20% mohair. In Shetland there is roving in charcoal grey, light grey and white. Perhaps I can post some pictures on the blog if you'd like to see them. Check back later today and maybe I can get that done by then !!
    Thanks again, Jean in Mt
